dulcinea1. What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before?
I got my MA aww yeah, and then I failed at being a preceptor and wrote shitty papers. Fall semester was a mess.
2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions and will you make more for next year?
My resolution was to get my MA, so ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED. This year I want to not fail at reading for comps.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Annelise did! CRAZINESS.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.
5. What countries did you visit?

6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
I want to get out of the country at some point. I'd also like to have an Arqueete in my house.
7. What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
My comps oral exam.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Fucking passed all my comps. I still boggle at that. I also gave a paper at a conference and it was a big hit, and I actually read for my classes.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I did a terrible job in fall semester. I couldn't balance free time with schoolwork with teaching.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
My thyroid was giving me a fit during the fall too.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
A NEWWWWWW COMPUTERRRRRRR. All the stuff in my awesome new apartment! I love living on the Mall. Tickets to see Death Cab for Cutie AND Pentatonix! Awwwwwww YES.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Arqueete's for being a big badass with her first awesome grown up job.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
All the shootings like Arq mentioned. :(
14. Where did most of your money go?
Clothes and food.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
OBAMAAAAAAAAAA. Pentatonix. Passing comps! Amazing rp.
16. What song(s) will always remind you of 2012?
"We Are Young" - fun.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. Happier or sadder?
Happier. This time last year I was gearing up for comps.
ii. Older or wiser?
Older.
iii. Thinner or fatter?
The same.

Poorer.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Last semester, teacher work.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Procrastinating.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent it at home and then at my stepgrandma's house, eating surprisingly good, real food and not just fingerfoods.

So many that I just made my bedroom door a revolving door.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Supernatural, Sherlock, Parks & Recreation, Community, Twin Peaks.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
I wouldn't say hate, but I have a list of people I dislike.
26. What was the best book you read?
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.
I also enjoyed some plays: El nuevo mundo descubierto por Cristobal Colon, El perro del hortelano, El pintor de su deshonra, La dama duende, El gran teatro del mundo.
Reading for comps, I liked Los pazos de Ulloa and San Manuel Bueno, martir.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
The Lumineers.
28. What did you want and get?
My MA and acceptance into the PhD program! A new computer.
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
ugh oh man. what did i even see this year. The Avengers changed a lot of my social life, so I'll say that one. (It's also a good movie.) OH OMG Life of Pi wins all the awards in this category.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 24, and I went out to a Mexican place with some people in my department, and had an awkward good time.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012?
Business casual chic maybe. I still shop at Banana Republic and Ann Taylor Loft like a true dork.
34. What kept you sane?
My friends. TV. Writing.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Misha Collins.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The presidential election.
37. Who did you miss?
JENN :( :( :( All the people who didn't get asked back to the PhD.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
I finally talked to the other PhD candidates in my year, and they're nice! All the people I met through rp. Seriously you're all amazing.
